5 RFQLIkFMFNTS
5.1 General
The following applies:
(a) Soil should ideally be tested hetseeii I and 4 weeks after manufacture.
NOTE: For guidance on the time that product can be considered to still comply with this Standard. 12 weeks is appropriate for soils other than natural soils or soil blends, which can be considered to comply for 6 months. Once the product has been exposed to
environmental factors e.g. spread on the ground. the test results may no longer reflect the properties of the product when
originally tested.
(b) Soil shall be of such a physical and chemical composition that it is capable of supporting plant life after adequate
fertilization and watering.
(c) The test for bulk density (Clause 5.2) should be carried out first, as this determines whether the soil is low density, organic or a natural soil or soil blend. Table I specifies which tests are required for each of these soil types.
