AS 3818.6:2010 pdf download.Timber-Heavy structural products—Visually graded Part 6: Decking for wharves and bridges.

The following shall not be accepted:

(a) Timber species with an average density below 360 kg/rn3 at 12% moisture content.

(b) Any piece ssith exceptionally low density.

NOTE: The lower density species need extra care in regard to assessing nail and connector holding capacity.

1.6.2 Ordering

The purchasing order shall nominate the grade of decking (i.e., Grade I or Grade 2) together with one or more of the following:

(a) Stress grade.

(b) Durability class.

(c) Strength group.

(d) Species.

NOIB: It is preferred that the order nominates both the stress grade (see Appendix B) and durability class (see AS 5604) of the

decking.

Where only the stress grade is nominated, any species listed in AS 3818.1 for decking for wharves and bridges. which meets that

stress grade or better when graded to this Standard. shall be acceptable.
